What to Expect Before an Event: Treatment Timing
The Short Answer
Book at least three weeks ahead for injectables, and further ahead where you can. The buffer leaves room for full effect, for any small bruise to clear, and for a touch-up if your provider recommends one.
Timing by Treatment
Neurotoxin: softening begins in about three to seven days, with full effect at about two weeks. Book at least three weeks out.
Hyaluronic acid filler: volume is visible right away, with the true result at about two weeks once swelling settles. Book two to three weeks out.
SkinPen® microneedling: expect one to three days of flushed skin. Plan at least a week ahead of photographs, and remember a full series runs months.
Biostimulators: Sculptra® builds over about two to three months, so an event timeline starts months ahead, and that is a consultation conversation.
Planning With Your Provider
Bring the date to the consultation. Your provider will sequence treatments so everything has settled before the day, and will say what fits the time available.
Treatment Timing Before an Event: common questions
When should I book before a wedding?
At least three weeks ahead for neurotoxin and filler, and months ahead where a biostimulator or a microneedling series is part of the plan.
Can I get filler the week of an event?
Volume is visible right away, but swelling and the chance of a small bruise make the week of an event a poor time to start. Two to three weeks ahead is the comfortable window; the week itself is for nothing new.
Is it too late if my event is next month?
Neurotoxin and filler fit comfortably inside a month. A biostimulator or a microneedling series will not finish in time, and your provider will say what fits.
